Work begins on Hoa Lac – Hoa Binh City Expressway

Nhan Dan Online – Construction began on the Hoa Lac – Hoa Binh City Expressway in Yen Quang commune, Ky Son district, Hoa Binh province on October 3.

The 33-kilometre expressway will connect with the Lang – Hoa Lac expressway which is now renamed Thang Long Avenue.

It is divided into two components; two sections of road in Hanoi and Hoa Binh province.

The 20 kilometre section through Hoa Binh has a total investment of over VND 6.7 trillion (US$356 million) from the Hanoi General Export and Import Company.

Road sections not passing urban areas, 33 metres wide, have six vehicle lanes for traffic travelling a maximum speed of 100 kilometres per hour, while sections passing through urban areas are 42 metres wide with a speed limit of 60 kilometres per hour.

There will also be 12 bridges on the expressway.

Once completed, the expressway will create a traffic axis linking Hanoi and the northwestern provinces, ease the traffic load on Highway No.6, and contribute to forming areas that will be driving forces for socio-economic development in Hoa Binh province and other regional localities.
