Retail petrol, kerosene prices up by VND 500 a litre

Nhan Dan Online - The Ministries of Finance – Industry and Trade have just approved to increase the retail petrol and kerosene prices by VND 500 a litre. The new prices are applied to the petrol distribution system nationwide not earlier than 0 am, May 8.

Specifically, RON 95 petrol is sold at VND 13,000 a litre against the former price of VND 12,500 a litre. RON 92 petrol price has also gone up to VND 12,500 a litre from VND 12,000. The kerosene price is put at VND 12,000 a litre.

Selling prices of oil such as fuel oil 3S, fuel oil 3,5S, diesel 0,05S oil and diesel 0,20S oil also went up at VND 9,100 a litre, VND 9,000 a litre, VND 10,500 a litre and VND 10,450 a litre respectively.

Vietnam Petroleum Corporation (Petrolimex) has applied the new prices from 8:30 am, May 8 to its distribution system nationwide.

The latest increase in petrol and kerosene prices was on April 11.

The domestic petrol prices’ increase is due to the increase in the world demand in this summer. The price of crude oil in June in New York was US$57.97 a barrel, up US$1.63 compared to the trading session on May 6. The Brent oil price in London was at US$57.6 a barrel, up US$1.45 a barrel.
