New fees for land certificates

A decree stipulating new certificate fees for residential land-use rights, house ownership and others assets related to land has been announced by the Ministry of Finance.

Under the new decree, organisations who are granted land-use rights, houses and other assets related to land by State agencies or authorised organisations must pay a fee of up to VND500,000 (US$26.3) for their licences, while individuals and households face the highest fee of VND100,000 ($5.2).

The decree stipulates that organisations and companies who wish to renew their licences will have to pay between VND50,000 ($2.6) and VND100,000 ($5.2) if they want to add new information to their existing documents.

The fees for individuals and households have been reduced to between VND20,000 ($1.05) to VND25,000 ($1.3) depending on circumstance.

Individuals and households in rural areas will benefit from free licences if they were granted before last October.

Deputy Minister of Finance Do Hoang Anh Tuan said relevant authorities in localities took responsibility for chalking out specific fees in their areas according to ministry regulations.

The regulation will take effect in early September.

Previous certificate fees for land-use rights, houses and other assets related to land were VND100,000 for organisations, VND25,000 for households or individuals in urban areas and VND10,000 for those in rural areas.
