EPC contract signed for construction of Dinh Vu Polyester Plant

Nhan Dan Online – An EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) contract was signed for the construction of the Dinh Vu Polyester Plant in Hai Phong, by the PetroVietnam Petrochemical & Fiber Joint Stock Company (PVTex) – a member of PetroVietnam and the Consortium of contractors: Huyndai Engineering Co. - LG International Corp. – PetroVietnam Construction Joint Stock Corp on May 14.

This is the first polyester plant constructed in the northern region with advanced technology, modern equipment, total investment capital of US$324,85 million, capacity of 500 Tons/day, construction period of 25 months, on an area of 15 hectares at the Dinh Vu industrial park.

Upon completion, the plant will guarantee stable, long-term sources of materials provision for Vietnam textile and garment industry.

It is the biggest and the most important contract of the Dinh Vu Polyester Plant Project, which comprises entire technical and auxiliary; other general works inside the plant precinct; pipeline of liquid feedstock of Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG) from the jetty in the Dinh Vu industrial zone to plant.

This project belongs to the planning approved by the Prime Minister for development of Vietnam chemical industry until the year 2010 with the prospects till 2020 taken into consideration.
