Domestic market and trade promotion programme 2009 launched

Nhan Dan - The Ministry of Industry and Trade held a press conference to introduce the ‘Domestic Market and Trade Promotion Programme 2009’ in Hanoi on April 22.

The programme is part of the plan to implement the Government’s Resolution No 30/2008/NQ-CP on urgent solutions to prevent economic downturn, maintain economic growth rate and ensure social welfare. The programme will be held from April 27 to May 3.

By supporting promotion activities as well as mobilising domestic enterprises to direct businesses toward domestic market and meet the needs of Vietnamese consumers, the programme is expected to change the awareness of domestic consumers and attract them to domestically produced goods.

The programme will also carry out a series of activities such as assisting the enterprise community’s capacity, conducting market surveys on market share of Vietnamese goods, distribution system and business capacity of domestic enterprises. In addition, the programme will organise seminars, conferences and trade fairs to help enterprises share experiences and seek business opportunities. Launching Vietnamese goods to rural areas, industrial zones and big cities will also be part of the programme.

All activities within the framework of the programme are to enhance competitive capacity of Vietnamese goods and enterprises in the domestic market.
