Cold weather forecast for northern Vietnam

A cold wave is forecast to hit Vietnam’s northern region this week, with temperatures to drop by several Celsius degrees.

According to the Central Hydrometeorology Forecast Center, the weather in northern provinces may be cold at night and in the morning, and may be much colder in mountainous areas.

In the central provinces from Quang Binh to Binh Dinh the weather is still bad, with moderate to heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the south is likely to be affected by an active depression on the East Sea. Therefore, there will be rains and thunderstorms, with the rain occurring mainly in the evening and at night in the eastern provinces, Ho Chi Minh City and coastal areas of the Mekong Delta.

Temperatures in southern provinces and cities will gradually reduce in the middle of this week, with light fog to appear at night and early morning. The temperature in HCM is forecast to be 20-22 Celsius degrees.

The forecast center also warned sailing boats and ships of strong winds forming on the sea from Khanh Hoa to Ca Mau.
