HCM City has about 1,200 plastic production establishments.
Ho Chi Minh City ?s output accounts for nearly 80% of national production.
Average growth rate from 1988 to 1996: 17.5%. During 1997 and 1998,the growth rate decreased due to the adverse impact of the regional crisis,but from 2000 it has recovered.

FISHERIES IN HO CHI MINH CITY

At present, 10 processing companies are
HACCP-certified (40 companies in Vietnam now qualify for the EU market andmore than 50 companies have exported to the US)
Main exports: shrimps, fillet of fresh-water fishes, tuna, cephalopodmollusk (squid, cuttle-fish), bivalve mollusk (scallop, shellfish).

A great deal of recycled materials can be generated ifproper investment are put in place.
Great demand for organic fertilizer which is used for soil conservation,however Hoc Mon Fertilizer Factory not capable of satisfying the demand dueto its limited production capacity. There is not any facility available toclassify waste or recyclable materials. Recyclable materials aremanually selected.
